SCS Software revealed new screenshots, details, and footage about two upcoming DLC for American Truck Simulator: Illinois and South Dakota.
We start with Illinois, and specifically with a look at the depots where we’ll find work.
These include Antlion, a large construction machinery factory in Peoria, GroundBreaker, a dealer in Quincy, Aqua Vista marinas in Marion and Chicago, Rock Port logistics company in Peoria, and Chicago International Airport.
There are also underground depots like UnderCity storage in Chicago and a branch of the TerraStore company in Quincy.
Then there are plenty of custom depot farms around the cities of Marion, Champaign, Rockford, and Effingham, on top of Flavorfair grain elevator custom depots in East St. Louis and Quincy.
For those who enjoy heavier cargo, there are quarries around Chicago and Rockford, alongside a custom timber harvest depot near Marion.

Next on the menu are more cities in South Dakota, including Aberdeen, Watertown, Brookings, Yankton, and Mitchell.

American Truck Simulator is available for PC, and it’s the sister game to Euro Truck Simulator 2. PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions are also coming. The beta of version 1.59 for PC has just been launched.
Illinois is likely the next DLC, and you can check out its truck stops, the city of Marion, Rockford, Quincy, even more truck stops, Moline, Peoria, Champaign, the prairies, Bloomington, water bodies, more settlements, the Murals, and East St. Louis. We also recently got an extensive gameplay showcase.
South Dakota should come afterward, and we already saw its Truck Stops, countryside, towns, cities, more Truck Stops, the road network, and more settlements.
The game will soon cross the borders of the United States and go to Canada with the British Columbia DLC.
Another big project is the Road Trip feature, spearheaded by the Ford Car Pack (of which we also saw the Ford Crown Victoria, the Ford F-150, and the Ford Mustang Fastback), which will expand the simulator’s experience from trucks to cars and pickup trucks, including pure exploration and the delivery of smaller packages.
