Beyond These Stars, a new city-building game that takes place on the back of a giant Space Whale, just got a confirmed release date. Developer Balancing Monkey Games and publisher Hooded Horse will be releasing the game later this year on October 15.
The setting for Beyond These Stars takes place on top of Kewa, a sentient Space Whale journeying across the universe. Players must build a thriving settlement here, which comes with its own challenges and need for careful strategy. When the settlers, called Peeps, first arrive, the place is desolate and inhospitable. The land can be terraformed to create a thriving ecosystem with canals, farms, and forests. One of the main challenges of the game is to work around the hardships of the land while taking into account the efficiency of production chains and Kewa’s happiness.
As players strengthen their bond with Kewa and travel together, they will meet other species and search for the truth about their ancestors and the history of the Space Whales. Beyond the land on Kewa, players can create outposts on nearby planets to stock up on essential resources and new technologies. However, Kewa may decide to leave a planet quickly if the player’s bond with it is not strong enough. Beyond These Stars challenges players to balance survival with the need to co-exist with a living, sentient world.

Beyond These Stars will release on PC via Steam on October 15, 2026. There is a brand new demo available if you are interested in trying out the game.
