Specifically, the official post from the developer showcases the Mount Rushmore State’s vast grasslands and forests.

In the western part of the state, we’ll be able to explore a mountainous area full of dense forests called the Black Hills. This national park is crossed by several scenic routes, including US 85, US 385, US 18, and SD-44.

Interstate 90 and SD 44 also pass near the Badlands National Park.

After crossing the Missouri River, you can reach the Prairie Plains, crossed by SD-34, US 50, SD-50, I-90, and US 18.

You can check out all the screenshots below.

American Truck Simulator is available for PC, and it’s the sister game to Euro Truck Simulator 2. PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions are also coming. The game has just been updated to version 1.56.

We don’t yet know when the South Dakota DLC will be released, as SCS likes to announce release dates only close to launch, but we already saw its Truck Stops.

Illinois is also coming, and you can check out its truck stops, the city of Marion, Rockford, Quincy, even more truck stops, and Moline.

A Louisiana DLC is in the works as well, and you can already check out its truck stops, welcome centers, buildings, some cities, more settlements, its forests and wetlands, more cities, the bridges, the road network, and Port Fourchon.

On top of that, a rework has been revealed for the areas around the famous Route 66.

We’re also expecting a Louisiana DLC, and you can check out its truck stops, welcome centers, buildings, some cities, more settlements, its forests and wetlands, more cities, the bridges, and the road network.

Another big project is the Road Trip feature, spearheaded by the Ford Car Pack, which will expand the simulator’s experience from trucks to cars and pickup trucks, including pure exploration and the delivery of smaller packages.
