Today, Skyhook Games celebrated Steam Next Fest with the first playable demo of its highly anticipated grass-cutting simulator sequel, Lawn Mowing Simulator 2.
The demo will let fans hop onto their virtual mowers in North America for the first time ever, with this particular location set around a water tower.
Gameplay has been rebuilt from the ground up for a more natural, realistic look and to allow millions of blades of grass to be trimmed at locations across the USA. The visuals also get a boost, with greater variation in lawn height and tuftiness, giving players a clearer indication of how thick each patch of grass is and how to approach each section of lawn in terms of cut height and speed.

Fallen leaves will also be a big factor in cleaning locations, as Lawn Mowing Simulator 2 introduces the leaf blower, which you’ll be able to try out in the demo. You’ll be able to blow around thousands of leaves at once, collecting and capturing them in a tarp to leave the area spotless.
The Lawn Mowing Simulator 2 Kickstarter campaign successfully concluded earlier this year, with 407 backers pledging £20,022 to help bring the project to life. The funding allowed Skyhook Games to go self-published, and the crowdfunding success is helping the team add highly requested features like leaf blowing, new US locations, and new grass technology.
Lawn Mowing Simulator 2 is set to release on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S later this year. For more news on simulation titles, check out the new gameplay for Ranger’s Path: National Park Simulator and the Scooby-Doo DLC for House Flipper 2.
