The massive Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (KATL) in Georgia, United States, just launched for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 from Orbx.
Yet, it wasn’t made by a large team of flight simulation developers. The vast majority of the work was done by Matteo Veneziani, a veteran Italian developer with a big passion for creating the best airport that he can for flight simulators.
We talked to Matteo over a year ago, and back then, the airport was just taking shape. The development of this gigantic scenery took two and a half years for Matteo, who still had time to include interesting Easter Eggs and pack the add-on with tons of details.
To hear more about Matteo’s work and his passion that led to the completion of the busiest airport in the world for MSFS 2024, we interviewed him again, and in the video below, you can hear directly from him and see the launch build of the airport in action (it includes more details than the beta version we tried a few days ago).
Not only does Matteo provide plenty of details about this career-defining achievement, but he also reveals his next projects for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and even has some news for X-Plane 12 users.
Of course, we’d appreciate it if you could like it and subscribe to our growing YouTube channel, as that’s always extremely helpful. Comments and feedback are also always welcome, even more so if you have questions and doubts, to which we’ll try to respond ASAP.
The airport can be purchased on Orbx Direct for $29.99, and it’ll be released on the official marketplace soon.
Incidentally, the video above was recorded in 1440p, Ultra settings (besides deactivated motion blur), with nearly 200 AI aircraft displayed around the scene.
