Come with us to explore the beta version of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (KATL) in Georgia, US, in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, thanks to the simulator’s walkaround feature.
This is a beta version of the airport that will be released later this month by Orbx. It isn’t yet available for purchase, but its creator, Matteo Veneziani, is allowing us to show it off for your viewing pleasure.
While it’s close enough to completion to give a good idea of the quality and level of detail we can expect, you should keep in mind that it isn’t final.
Specifically, the following features are missing or incomplete and will be included at release.
- Renaissance Hotel and Delta Museum ( will be added as POI before the release )
- VDGS Systems are currently being added
- The GSX profile has not been implemented yet
- Vehicle animation ( ground service equipment vehicles + road cars): There will be more vehicles animated in the final version. especially over the terminal T and F road and car parks.
- People animations: there will be more animated people in the final version, both passengers and airport workers
- Some animations could have some stutters, be bugged or disappear. They will be fixed in the final version
The airport is definitely one of the best I’ve seen for Microsoft Flight Simulator, and it certainly does justice to one of the most important and busiest hubs in the world. The fact that it has been created by a solo developer is absolutely mindboggling.
You can read about its creation in our interview with Matteo Veneziani himself, published last year.
If you don’t believe me, you can watch the video below to see the airport in its entirety, exploring every nook and cranny in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
