Today marked the latest annual celebration of the Warhammer universe through video games, as plenty of news, reveals, and announcements came during the Skulls 2026 event. Here’s everything that was revealed at the festival.
The first reveal was Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Deathwatch, a direct tactical sequel to Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters. The game is going to be developed by Complex Games, putting you in command of an elite Deathwatch Kill Team battling Tyranids, Orks, and Tau alongside Inquisition agents.
Next up is a new single-player 2D action platformer by Dotemu called Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Deathmaster. The title allows players to control a lethal Skaven assassin, and is slated for a 2027 release on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
Skulls 2026 offered a nice surprise for fans by announcing that the highly anticipated turn-based tactical sequel, Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus II, was available now. The game features two fully playable narrative campaigns, with one for the Adeptus Mechanicus and one for the newly awakened Necrons.
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV officially revealed its release date of September 17, 2026, launching with four factions (Space Marines, Orks, Necrons, Adeptus Mechanicus). A 9-month post-launch roadmap was also detailed, including a Level Editor, the return of Crusade Mode, a Blood Ravens prologue DLC, and an Aftermath expansion introducing a 5th playable faction.
A mobile update and physical merchandise crossover was also announced for Warhammer 40,000: Tacticus & Titan Evo Dark Angels Edition. Tacticus received a content roadmap update, and Secretlab revealed a new Dark Angels Edition for their TITAN Evo gaming chair lineup.
Nothing screams Democracy quite like Warhammer, so it should come as no surprise that an official collaboration for Helldivers 2 x Warhammer 40k is in the works. Players will be able to don Imperial Guard-inspired gear to take the fight to the Automatons and Terminids at some point later this year.
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide had a brand new class to show off as part of Skulls 2026, unveiling the long-awaited Skitarii playable class. Lifted straight from the Adeptus Mechanicus, this cybernetic Reject class launches into the game on June 23, 2026, for $11.99.
Speaking of updates, Saber Interactive showed off details for the Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Purgation update, which went live right after airing. The free patch adds a new PvE Operation (“Purgation”), a Bolt Carbine sidearm, weapon variants, an updated Siege mode, and a Battle-Barge Practice Arena; Season Pass 2 owners also received the Iron Hands Chapter Pack cosmetics.

Not to be outdone, Creative Assembly announced that Total War: Warhammer III launched Patch 8.0 and the paid Bhashiva Character Pack, bringing Tiger Warriors to Grand Cathay. That wasn’t all the developer revealed, though.
Immediately after the above news, Creative Assembly revealed a teaser trailer for the upcoming Total War: Warhammer 40,000, confirming Armageddon as a major setting and prominently featuring Commander Yarrick.
Warhammer Survivors finally got more info, as Auroch Digital announced the highly anticipated fast-paced bullet-hell roguelite would be coming later in 2026 to PC, consoles, and mobile. In this Vampire Survivors spin-off, players control iconic heroes like Malum Caedo (40K) and Neave Blacktalon (Age of Sigmar) against massive swarms.
Boltgun 2 showcased extended gameplay during Skulls 2026, featuring protagonist Nyra Veyra, while Nitro Games also announced that Boltgun Boom, a separate mobile adaptation, would be released later in 2026.
Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader revealed that its The Infinite Museion expansion will launch on June 11, 2026, while the party-based cRPG Dark Heresy showcased a gameplay trailer and announced that its Closed Beta is officially open now for Founder’s Pack owners.
Owlcat, the developer behind Rogue Trader, also announced its next title during Skulls 2026. Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy launches its Closed Beta today, accessible to anyone who purchased one of the game’s Founder’s Packs.
Last, but not least, Speed Freeks detailed its impending console launch, RUST announced a dedicated Warhammer 40,000 cosmetic pack, Battlesector launched its 1.0 Crusade Mode update along with Ultramarines DLC, and Gladius – Relics of War received the Eradication Pack DLC.
