Straight4 Studios has released Update 1.7.0.0 for Project Motor Racing, introducing a new License Points System for Ranked Online, a new car, improvements to the GT4 class, and more.
To start with, the License Points System is a new way to keep the Ranked Online events competitive and fair. It will come into effect with Update 1.7.0.0, and it’s built around two main pillars: License Points and Protest/Steward Review.
Players will be given 20 License Points at the start of the season, and starting in April, there will be License Point entry criteria for Championships. Higher-tier races will require more License Points, encouraging players to be on their best behavior. At the start, players will be required to have at least zero License Points to play in Online Ranked races.
License Points can be taken away if a protest is lodged against them, and that protest is reviewed and upheld by the internal stewards team. The number of points lost will be determined by the team.
At this point, there are small deductions (minor misconduct), moderate deductions (aggressive or unsafe driving), and major deductions (severe misconduct).
Players can go as low as -60 License Points, knocking them out of Ranked Online races until it’s back to 0 at the least. Points recover at a rate of 1/day until a player has 20 License Points again.
In the future, Straight4 Studios plans on implementing telemetry-based behavior tracking to reduce the role of protest tickets in the License Points System. Essentially, players need to play fair at all times.
More information about the License Points System and how to submit a protest ticket can be found here.

Project Motor Racing Update 1.7.0.0 will also introduce the Ford Falcon V8 2013, an Aussie supercar that’s free on all platforms.
One of the biggest highlights of the update is the GT4 class improvements. Similar to the GT3 class improvements in Update 1.6.0.1, the GT4 class improvements have a reworked tire model that improves the load, temperature, and slip angle on corners.
As with the last improvements, any custom setups for the GT4 class will more than likely need to be adjusted for the changes.
Other changes that are part of Update 1.7.0.0 include a new class, Australian V8 (or AUS V8), rebalanced Force Feedback and Traction Control settings for several classes, and more. A full list of changes can be found here in the official patch notes.
Project Motor Racing is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
