Today, Dream Reality Interactive and Curve Games (Human Fall Flat, The Ascent, & Lawn Mowing Simulator), have announced Lazare’s Sacrifice, a narrative-driven deck-building game coming to PC in Spring 2027.
Set during the French Revolution, the game places players inside Carmes Prison, where blood runs through the streets of Paris, and escape means surviving a deadly card game that, on failure, leads directly to the guillotine. Players take on the role of Lazare Hoche, a betrayed general forgotten and left to rot in an 18th-century prison.
As Lazare attempts to escape, he will face a cast of twisted historical figures, each with their own playstyles, secrets, and motivations, forcing players to determine who can be trusted while navigating the conspiracy behind their imprisonment. Lazare’s Sacrifice combines strategic card battles with narrative exploration, with every major decision carrying a potentially devastating cost.
Players can sacrifice cards, surrender board slots, or even drain their own health to summon powerful forces, with stronger abilities becoming available as more resources are given up. The game has been co-designed with Damien Monnier, creator of Gwent and Gwent: The Witcher Card Game.
Its card system centers on calculated risk, requiring players to decide how much they are willing to sacrifice for an advantage without leaving Lazare vulnerable to a fatal mistake. Alongside its narrative Story Mode, Lazare’s Sacrifice will feature Tower Mode, a custom-deck gauntlet designed to test players’ tactical skills.

Players can also build decks around four distinct factions while searching Carmes Prison for hidden cards and uncovering the truth behind Lazare’s imprisonment.
