Today, HoYoverse announced that Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.3 “Journey to the Sky” will launch on October 21, 2026
Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.3 introduces two new S-Rank Agents, a new mech combat system, additional story content, and several limited-time events. The update will also feature new outfits, quality-of-life improvements, seasonal content for a permanent game mode, and rewards for players who check in during the new version.
The upcoming story will continue the conflict surrounding the sky island of Roscaelifer, where access to the island of Booastrum has been restricted, leaving the occupied skyport of Quietude Isle as the only available route back. Judge Phoenix and Commissioner Severian will be forced to work together despite their differences, while the Proxy and Lindverne investigate the mystery surrounding the three Sunbringers and the Karma Cores within them.
The first half of “Journey to the Sky” introduces Phoenix, an S-Rank Fire Anomaly Agent and the Krampus Compliance Authority’s second-in-command in combat. Her unique physique makes her exceptionally difficult to defeat, with her fighting spirit growing stronger as opponents resist her attacks.
Phoenix’s Core Skill, Nirvana, lets her burn enemies affected by an Anomaly, causing subsequent Anomaly damage against them to trigger critical hits. Phoenix can also activate Rebirth after taking a fatal strike, reviving on the spot at full health and returning to combat. She will arrive alongside her signature S-Rank W-Engine, Plume of Rebirth.
Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.3 “Journey to the Sky” will introduce Severian, an S-Rank Wind Attack Agent and senior commissioner at New Eridu Public Security. Willing to use force when necessary to maintain order, Severian can automatically dodge incoming attacks through his Core Skill, Endless Breeze, then counterattack with the momentum he gains. Successful dodges and skill-based attacks also build Energy, letting him unleash powerful consecutive slashes. His debut will be accompanied by the S-Rank W-Engine Incarcerating Grip.
Several returning characters and equipment will also be available during the update. Velina and the W-Engine Joyau Dore will return in the first half, while Norma and the W-Engine Chief Sidekick will be featured in the second half.
Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.3 “Journey to the Sky” will also introduce new cosmetic options for both Agents. Players can purchase Phoenix’s two new outfits together through a limited-time bundle with a 30% discount, while Severian’s everyday uniform, Solemnly Impeccable, will be available in the store during the second half.
Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.3 will also include new avatars, dynamic wallpapers, and Trust Events for both Agents, along with a new sidebar theme and pendant obtainable through the in-game New Eridu City Fund. Players will also experience several limited-time events, starting with Night of Supernatural Tricks, where businesses across Lumina Square join forces to host a supernatural-themed celebration.
The HIA Club will introduce a new virtual reality game, Spooky Funhouse Tales, where players can drive different Trickmobiles and scare away unwanted visitors. Rewards will include an Angels of Delusion outfit, a new A-Rank W-Engine, and additional Proxy accessories.

Other activities will include Cyber Miracle Healer, on Duty!, which tasks players with repairing malfunctioning Bangboo after they accidentally consume toxic chips. Trails of the Hobbling Crow will focus on tracking down the culprit responsible for attacking Crowe, while Repair! Drifting Art challenges players to recover and reassemble painting fragments lost at sea.
The familiar Area Patrol and Combat Simulation double-drop events will also return, offering additional opportunities to earn rewards. One of the biggest additions in Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.3 will be a new mech combat system integrated into the Main Story.
Lindverne will use her Karma Core ability, Genesis Reconstruction, to create multiple High Ambitions Corp. combat mechs that players can pilot against enemies. These machines will feature interchangeable melee and ranged attack modes, providing different approaches to combat depending on the situation.
Players can also unleash powerful laser attacks after using an EX Special Attack or successfully dodging an enemy’s attack. Environmental interactions will play a role in both combat and puzzle-solving, letting players shoot explosive objects or use heavy punches to launch large objects.
HoYoverse has confirmed that the mech gameplay will remain available in future versions rather than being limited to the Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.3 story. The permanent Hollow exploration, combat, and extraction mode Enigma of the Labyrinth will also receive a seasonal update called Spooky Trial.
Players will face a three-round progressive challenge issued by Master Devil, a Devilboo instructor who will put their abilities to the test. Candle Cores earned during the trials can be sold by comparing offers from shops owned by friends or members of the player’s Outpost group.
Several quality-of-life improvements will arrive alongside the new content. Fairy will gain a team recommendation feature that suggests lineups, strategies, and basic combat instructions based on the Agents available in a player’s roster.
Players can also apply recommended team compositions to preset configurations with a single click, and selected Agents will receive dedicated tutorial videos to help them learn abilities and combat mechanics faster. Additional guidance will be available during the Squad Configuration phase of certain permanent combat modes.
The system will provide challenge tips based on the number of deployed squad members, character enhancement progress, and team synergy, with shortcuts that let players access relevant guides directly. It will also display Inter-Knot Reputation promotion benefits more clearly, along with reminders and guidance tailored to a player’s current level and promotion progress.
Finally, players can claim 10 Encrypted Master Tapes and 10 Boopons through the Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.3 check-in events, giving them more chances to obtain Agents and Bangboo. For more information on this and previous updates, check back to Simulation Daily.
