Playground Games and Turn 10 Studios have announced that Forza Horizon 6 will launch on PlayStation 5 on January 26, 2027, with pre-orders available now through the PlayStation Store.
Panic Button, in collaboration with Playground Games and Turn 10 Studios, developed the PS5 port, which will feature a 4K 30 FPS Quality mode and a 60 FPS Performance mode; players who purchase the Premium Edition will receive five days of early access beginning January 21, 2027.
Players who pre-order any edition of Forza Horizon 6 on PS5 will also receive a pre-tuned Ferrari J50, which will be added to their garage after completing the game’s prologue. Physical disc editions will be available through participating retailers, letting players buy the game digitally or at retail.
The PS5 version will support cross-platform play and cross-save functionality with the Xbox Series X|S and Steam versions, allowing players to continue their progress across supported platforms. Community-created content will also be available across platforms from launch, including EventLab races, Prefabs, Garages, Estates, liveries and tuning setups, giving PS5 players access to creations shared by the existing community.

In addition to the PS5 release, the first Forza Horizon 6 Premium Expansion will launch on January 21, 2027, across all platforms. The expansion will be included with the Premium Edition, Premium Upgrade, and Expansions Bundle, with a separate purchase option also available for players who do not own those packages.
A free content update will accompany the PS5 launch and the first expansion, though further details have not yet been announced. The release follows six months of updates for Forza Horizon 6, including the introduction of the Drift Attack feature, as Playground Games continues to expand the game’s content and features.
Forza Horizon 6 is currently available on Xbox Series X|S and PC through Steam. The Standard and Deluxe Editions will launch on January 26, while Premium Edition owners can begin playing on January 21.
The Premium Edition includes the full game, VIP Membership, Welcome Pack, Car Pass, Time Attack Car Pack, Italian Passion Car Pack, the first expansion, and a second expansion planned for a later date. Players who already own the Standard or Deluxe Edition can purchase the Premium Upgrade separately to access these additional benefits.

The Deluxe Edition includes the full game, Welcome Pack and Car Pass, while the Standard Edition includes the full game. All three editions will be available for PS5, with the Premium Edition providing the earliest access and the most additional content.
With its PS5 release, cross-platform support, and first expansion on the way, the Horizon Festival is preparing to welcome an even larger community of drivers in 2027. The announcement also comes amid growing frustration among some fans over Playground Games’ communication around Forza Horizon 6, with players previously criticizing the studio for a lack of updates and information.
Playground Games has since apologized for the communication issues and assured the community that it is listening to feedback, promising to explore ways to improve how it shares news with players going forward.
