FuRyu has announced an HD remaster of Exstetra is on the way, and the JRPG will be released in the West for the first time.
Exstetra is a turn-based, fantasy RPG where kisses are the key to saving the world. The main character, Ryoma, is the chosen savior, also known as Prisma. As Prisma, Ryoma runs into people who have the potential to be Prisma Knights and are also destined to save the world.
Ryoma’s kiss can awaken the powers of the Prisma Knights by sharing EXS. Together, Ryoma and the Prisma Knights set out to save Amazia.
Amazia, the setting of Exstetra, is a version of Tokyo that’s been fused with another world, which leads to its world-ending fate.
Beyond the turn-based combat and romance, there’s also an enchanting system. This lets players assign abilities and effects to equipment, giving them a way to customize units in combat.
The opening animation for Exstetra was also released, which fans can check out below:
The Exstetra HD remaster will be released on July 30, 2026, on PC. It’s also planning to release on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2 in the future.
Exstetra was first released back in 2013 on the PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS, but only in Japan. Players can see more of the game in the screenshots and artwork for it below:
