Following the release of American Truck Simulator Update 1.62 earlier this week, SCS Software has officially released Euro Truck Simulator 2 Update 1.62. The full release comes after last month’s beta, which let players test new exploration activities, truck visual improvements, updated tire designs, and changes to the in-game radio ahead of the full release.
Euro Truck Simulator 2 Update 1.62 introduces new DAF XG+ truck editions, refreshed garage models, visual improvements for the Iveco S-Way, and updates to the in-game radio. The Emerald and Sapphire Editions feature distinctive green and blue paint jobs, respectively, alongside exclusive exterior accessories and specially designed interiors.
The update also introduces new truck garage models throughout the entire base map and all map expansions. These refreshed garages feature updated interior and exterior visuals, improved detailing, and a more modern appearance. SCS Software has also balanced the visual improvements with performance considerations to ensure the new models do not significantly increase the game’s performance demands compared to their predecessors.
Another visual improvement comes through the continued expansion of the Improved Material System, which now includes the Iveco S-Way. This addition brings enhanced lighting and improved material rendering to the truck’s interior, with particular attention paid to how different surfaces and materials respond to lighting.
Euro Truck Simulator 2 Update 1.62 also updates the Goodyear Tyres Pack, refreshing its paint jobs to reflect the company’s latest branding. The revised designs feature the current Goodyear logo and slightly adjusted colors, bringing the available liveries in line with the company’s updated visual identity.
Finally, the Escape station within the game’s Game Radio feature has received an expanded playlist. As the only stream-safe station available in the in-game radio lineup, Escape is particularly useful for content creators who want to broadcast their journeys without running into music copyright issues. Several tracks that previously caused copyright concerns have been removed, while 11 new songs have been added to give the station a longer runtime comparable to the game’s other radio stations.

Euro Truck Simulator 2 Update 1.62 is now available on Steam. In other news for the series, the Iceland DLC was revealed a few months ago, and you can enjoy additional screenshots, including its churches, the Ring Road, the coastlines, Keflavík, the fjords, Akureyri, the bridges, and plenty of gameplay.
Further national DLCs announced focus on Ireland (where we also saw a few screenshots, an iconic road, and Cavan) and Turkey.
The development team is also hard at work updating relevant areas of the map, and the next rework focuses on the UK, including the Stonehenge area, Inverness, and Bristol.
Last, but not least, there’s the Euro Truck Simulator 2 Coaches DLC. We recently saw its bus stations, the Scania Touring, passenger satisfaction, the MAN Lion’s Coach, the Volvo 9700 Double Decker, the first gameplay, the new vehicle features, how to purchase coaches and take on jobs, how to switch modes, tourist jobs, and gameplay of the Scania Touring.
