Both Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator are soon getting new expansions featuring vehicles different from trucks, but how do you switch to them?
According to the official post, both simulators will have a truck mode, while Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator will have Coach Mode and Car Mode, respectively.
Progression is separate between modes; however money and map exploration will be shared.
You can enter a new mode when you’re not driving, and you switch when you press “drive.” The correct navigation systems and UI will load then.
Navigation within mode will be made smoother with a future update.
The position of your previous vehicle will be shown on the map. Incidentally, the new rest system is involved in the truck and coach modes, while cars don’t require mandayory breaks.
If you’re unfamiliar with Euro Truck Simulator 2, it’s a truck-driving simulator available for PC, but PS5 and Xbox versions have been recently announced.
The Iceland DLC was revealed a few months ago, and you can enjoy additional screenshots, in addition to its churches, the Ring Road, the coastlines, Keflavík, the fjords, Akureyri, and the bridges.
Further national DLCs announced focus on Ireland (of which we also saw a few screenshots, an iconic road, and Cavan) and on Turkey.
The development team is also hard at work updating relevant areas of the map, and the next rework focuses on the UK, including the Stonehenge area, Inverness, and Bristol.
Last, but not least, there’s the Coaches DLC, and we recently saw its bus stations, the Scania Touring, passenger satisfaction, the MAN Lion’s Coach, the Volvo 9700 Double Decker, the first gameplay, the new vehicle features, and how to purchase coaches and take on jobs.
American Truck Simulator is also available for PC, and it’s the sister game to Euro Truck Simulator 2. PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions are also coming.
The game will soon cross the borders of the United States and go to Canada with the British Columbia DLC, of which we also saw some screenshots, some of the towns, the tunnels, and Whistler.
Then American Truck Simulator will return to the US with Indiana and North Dakota, on top of a Nevada rework.
The Road Trip freature is coming on September 30 alongside the Ford Car Pack, including the Ford Crown Victoria, the Ford F-150, the Ford Mustang Fastback, and the Ford Bronco Badlands.
