SCS Software revealed another part of the upcoming Iceland DLC for its popular Euro Truck Simulator 2: the city of Akureyri.
Akureyri is affectionately called the Capital of the North, and it’s the fourth-largest city in the island country. Route 1, also known as the Ring Road, passes straight through the middle of the city.
If you’re looking for jobs, you’ll then fan out to the harbor, industrial areas, and local food-processing facilities. The port district includes a marine logistics center, a shipyard, and an electronics manufacturing depot.
In terms of landmarks, you’ll find the Akureyrarkirkja church, the Hof Cultural and Conference Centre, the Akureyri Art Museum, and the whale watching center.
Below you can find a gallery of screenshots from the official blog post and some footage published on X (formerly Twitter).

If you’re unfamiliar with Euro Truck Simulator 2, it’s a truck-driving simulator available for PC, but PS5 and Xbox versions have been recently announced.
The Iceland DLC was revealed a few months ago, and you can enjoy additional screenshots, in addition to its churches, the Ring Road, the coastlines, Keflavík, and the fjords.
Further national DLCs announced focus on Ireland (of which we just saw a few screenshots) and on Turkey.
The development team is also hard at work updating relevant areas of the map, and the next rework focuses on the UK, including the Stonehenge area.
Last, but not least, there’s the Coaches DLC, and we recently saw its bus stations, the Scania Touring, passenger satisfaction, the MAN Lion’s Coach, and the Volvo 9700 Double Decker.
