Reka, a game in which players can build, decorate, and customize a chicken-legged cottage, has released today after a period of early access on Steam. Developer Emberstorm Entertainment and publisher Fireshine Games have launched the full 1.0 version of the game with brand new quests, environmental features, and animals.
In a world inspired by Slavic folklore, players take control of a young apprentice named Reka who is under the tutelage of the great witch Baba Yaga. After constructing an enchanting cottage using wood and other materials, the player can meet local villagers, complete quests, and decorate their cozy new home with trinkets and furniture.
There’s no combat to worry about in Reka; it’s a stress-free adventure with a strong focus on decorating, crafting, foraging, exploring, and gentle questing. There is a strong Slavic influence in the environments, with authentic myths and legends serving as the main inspiration. Players will find themselves foraging wild flora, brewing potions, and practicing witchcraft in the shoes of the young witch Reka. There are even animals to serve as companions throughout the story, such as cats, foxes, and more.
Now that the full 1.0 release is available, there is an emotional conclusion to Reka’s story as she becomes a legendary witch in her own right, and players can enjoy an update to house-building with new furniture and decorations.
You can watch the 1.0 launch trailer for Reka below in order to see for yourself what the vibe of the game is.
There is a launch sale on Steam until November 7, so players can grab the game at a 35% discount. There is also a deluxe edition available that includes the game’s soundtrack.
