Koei Tecmo announced its financial results for the first half of fiscal year 2026, related to the period between April and September.
According to the presentation, sales were 37.327 billion yen (up 19.4% year-on-year), and operating profit was 11.743 billion yen (up 47.4% year-on-year).
For the Entertainment Business segment, which is how Koei Tecmo calls its video games business, sales were 34.209 billion yen (up 20.02% year-on-year) and operating profit was 11,467 million yen (up 48.02% year-on-year).
As a result of all this growth, Koei Tecmo has also revised its full-year forecast upward to 91,000 million yen in sales and 34,000 million yen in operating profit.
It’s worth mentioning that, if achieved, these results would be above the record results of the past fiscal year only in sales, but slightly down in operating profit.
Among the causes of these results, Koei Tecmo mentions higher revenue for its video games, but also higher costs for personnel, marketing, and distribution.
We also learn that, with the release of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty Complete Edition for Nintendo Switch 2, the franchise has now passed 8 million cumulative sales.
Pokémon Pokopia also continues its successful run, having passed 5 million copies sold in approximately four months.
If you’d like to compare today’s numbers with historical data, you can read our report about the data from the previous quarter, announced in April. Koei Tecmo is the first major gaming company to announce its results this quarter, so you can expect many more over the coming few weeks.
