Hooded Horse and Limbic Entertainment have released a new trailer for Corsair Cove, the upcoming pirate city building simulator, giving players a look at one of the islands they can build on, which is appropriately named Skull Rock.

At first glance, Skull Rock is a beautiful, calm paradise with a giant pirate skull motif, waterfalls, and greenery atop tall cliffs. However, it’s not as peaceful as it seems.

The waters nearby are rough, and there are multiple shipwrecks that can be found around Skull Rock that prove it. Additionally, sharks can be found in the waves.

If players can get past the treacherous waters, then it’s a great place to start a pirate capital. Skull Rock is large, and the terrain makes for interesting builds.

Fans can check out what Skull Rock looks like in Corsair Cove below:

Corsair Cove is an upcoming colony-building simulator where players are in charge of leading and raising their pirate crew from a humble start on a deserted island to taking over the Crown.

In Corsair Cove, pirate empires are built along the sea and on cliffs and hills to make players think about things like production chains across long and vertically challenging areas.

While building and running the pirate colony is important, players can also raid and pillage villages, defend against enemies (like the Crown), and explore the ocean to get the resources they’ll need.

Corsair Cove is set to release on July 31, 2026, on PC. There’s currently a demo available on Steam.
