Today, Ubisoft released Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Update 1.0.8, marking the game’s final major content update, though smaller quality-of-life updates will continue.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Update 1.0.8 adds a slew of new content, including New Game+, a new Nightmare Difficulty option, expanded combat animations, additional rewards, and hidden secrets throughout the Caribbean.
New Game+ lets players restart Edward Kenway’s adventure while keeping much of their previous progression, including weapons, gear, tools, trinkets, currency, resources, pets, visual customizations, ship upgrades, hideout progression, and Kenway Fleet development. Story progress, active quests, quest items, map discoveries, location progress, and forts will reset, though Jackdaw and hideout upgrades will remain available once players regain access through the story.
Players can progress through New Game+ up to five times, with each subsequent playthrough introducing an additional difficulty modifier. This system lets players revisit the campaign with an improved loadout while facing increasingly challenging encounters.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Update 1.0.8 also introduces Nightmare Difficulty, giving players a tougher test across ground combat, stealth, and naval encounters. Enemies deal more damage, attack more frequently, launch ranged attacks faster, and detect players more easily, while parrying and dodging require tighter timing. Naval encounters also become more threatening, raising the difficulty of sea battles.
Players can activate Nightmare Difficulty regardless of story progression, and adjust the challenge independently for combat, stealth, naval encounters, and activities. This lets players increase the difficulty of specific gameplay elements without making the entire adventure more demanding.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Update 1.0.8 further expands combat variety with additional takedown, microkill, and double-takedown animations across different weapon types. These variations appear randomly during gameplay and cannot be assigned manually, adding visual variety to Edward’s encounters with enemies.
Additional rewards are also available throughout the Caribbean, including new outfits, trinkets, sails, crew customization options, and pet appearances. Players can discover these items through exploration, New Game+ progression, activities, and hidden challenges. The map also adds six new hidden community chests, offering further rewards for those willing to explore.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through the Ubisoft Store, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. For more info on this and other Ubisoft and Assassin’s Creed titles, be sure to check back to Simulation Daily for updates.
