Microsoft released the highly anticipated World Update 23: Poland and the Baltics for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and MSFS 2020, along with its accompanying Local Legend.

Specifically, besides Poland, the World Update focuses on Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. As usual, it’s available to download from the official marketplace at no additional cost for everyone who owns the simulators.

It includes 12 areas of interest with photogrammetry: Tallinn in Estonia, Riga in Latvia, Kaunas and Vilnius in Lithuania. Poland gets Gdansk, Katowice, Krakow, Lodz, Poznan, Warsaw, and Wroclaw.

77 Points of Interest are also scattered around the area, plus five handcrafted airports: Kärdla Airport (EEKA) in Estonia, Jūrmala Airport (EVJA) in Latvia, Palanga International Airport (EYPA) in Lithuania, and Warsaw-Babice Airport (EPBC) and Opole-Kamień Śląski Airport (EPKN) in Poland.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 gets the following missions:

  • Three Discovery Flights: Warsaw, Poland; Sigulda, Latvia; and Tallinn, Estonia.
  • Four Precision Landings: Kärdla Airport (EEKA) in a Textron Aviation Cessna Citation CJ4; Jūrmala Airport (EVJA) in an Airbus A310-300; Palanga International Airport (EYPA) in an Airbus A320neo; and Opole-Kamień Śląski Airport (EPKN) in a Textron Aviation Beechcraft King Air 350i.
  • Sopot Landing Challenge: Polish Red Bull Air Race pilot Łukasz Czepiela landed a custom-modified CubCrafters STOL (Short Take-Off and Landing) aircraft on the wooden pier in Sopot.
  • One Guided Tour: Tatra National Park.
  • One Rally Race.

MSFS 2020 has not been forgotten and receives the following.

  • Three Discovery Flights: Warsaw, Poland; Sigulda, Latvia; and Tallinn, Estonia.
  • Four Landing Challenges: Kärdla Airport (EEKA) in a Textron Aviation Cessna Citation CJ4; Jūrmala Airport (EVJA) in an Airbus A310-300; Palanga International Airport (EYPA) in an Airbus A320neo; and Opole-Kamień Śląski Airport (EPKN) in a Textron Aviation Beechcraft King Air 350i.

Below you can watch a lovely trailer.

The accompanying Local Legend, numbered 26, is the Antonov An.-28, available on the official marketplace for $14.99.

While it was designed in Ukraine during the Soviet era, most of the units of this rugged airframe were actually manufactured in Poland by PZL-Mielec.
