Today, SCS Software announced the release date of the next DLC for American Truck Simulator, Illinois.
The Prairie State will be released on Steam on May 14, 2026. The pricing has not officially been announced, but all the state DLC cost $11.99, so that shouldn’t change.
The centerpiece of this American Truck Simulator DLC will be the sprawling city of Chicago, while another rather important milestone is that it adds one end of the historical Route 66 in American Truck Simulator.
This means that you’ll be able to drive the famous highway all the way through the United States.
You can check out a trailer, released to accompany the announcement.
American Truck Simulator is available for PC, and it’s the sister game to Euro Truck Simulator 2. PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions are also coming. The beta of version 1.59 for PC has just been launched.
Illinois is likely the next DLC, and you can check out its truck stops, the city of Marion, Rockford, Quincy, even more truck stops, Moline, Peoria, Champaign, the prairies, Bloomington, water bodies, more settlements, the Murals, East St. Louis, and the custom depots. You can also take a look at the first extensive gameplay showcase and the second.
South Dakota should come afterward, and we already saw its Truck Stops, countryside, towns, cities, more Truck Stops, the road network, more settlements, and even more towns.
The game will soon cross the borders of the United States and go to Canada with the British Columbia DLC.
Another big project is the Road Trip feature, spearheaded by the Ford Car Pack (of which we also saw the Ford Crown Victoria, the Ford F-150, and the Ford Mustang Fastback), which will expand the simulator’s experience from trucks to cars and pickup trucks, including pure exploration and the delivery of smaller packages.
