Today, Train Sim Germany officially announced that its next add-on, Train Sim World 6: Schnellfahrstrecke Nürnberg – Ingolstadt, is launching on August 13, 2026.
Train Sim World 6: Schnellfahrstrecke Nürnberg – Ingolstadt introduces the series’ first German route supporting full 300 km/h operation, allowing players to drive the DB BR 403 ICE 3 at its maximum operating speed between Nürnberg Hbf and Ingolstadt Hbf.
Stretching approximately 90 km through Bavaria, the dedicated high-speed railway features sweeping curves, steep gradients, and an extensive network of tunnels. The project originally began as a Public Editor creation by community member Corin “Pilot21” Sachse before evolving into an official release after Sachse joined Train Sim Germany.
The development team expanded and polished the project by adding new rolling stock, gameplay features, and additional content. Train Sim World 6: Schnellfahrstrecke Nürnberg – Ingolstadt includes two playable train types: DB BR 403 ICE 3 and DB BR 101.
The DB BR 403 ICE 3 comes in its classic red-stripe livery with updated passenger information displays and improved acceleration audio. The original non-Expert DB BR 101 comes in a weathered DB red livery alongside the München–Nürnberg-Express coaches and cab car, offering regional express services at speeds of up to 200 km/h.
In addition to high-speed services, the add-on comes with a section of the Nürnberg S-Bahn between Nürnberg Hbf and Feucht. This provides commuter operations with more frequent station stops before returning to the dedicated high-speed line.
Anyone who owns the separately available Expert DB BR 101 & IC Steuerwagen Loco Add-On can use the route’s enhanced Expert Mode functionality. This includes advanced locomotive systems for the BR 101 and additional fault simulations for the ICE 3, such as transformer failures, traction system faults, brake failures, LZB transmission issues, and train power system failures.

Train Sim World 6: Schnellfahrstrecke Nürnberg – Ingolstadt also supports timetable layers from several existing routes, including Schnellfahrstrecke Kassel–Würzburg, Niddertalbahn, Bahnstrecke Leipzig–Dresden, Schnellfahrstrecke Köln–Aachen, Stuttgart–Heilbronn, Maintalbahn, and Frankfurt–Fulda. Compatible rolling stock such as the DB BR 401 ICE 1, DB BR 411 ICE-T, and additional DB BR 101 liveries can further expand traffic across the route for players who own the required content.
Train Sim World 6: Schnellfahrstrecke Nürnberg – Ingolstadt releases on August 13, 2026, for $39.99. For more information on this, general news, and other add-ons, be sure to check back to Simulation Daily for updates.
