Simulation Daily publishes a roundup every day for all the news across the flight simulation field, helping you keep up to date with the ins and outs of the industry. Of course, today is going to be much bigger, and the same will go for the next two days.

Before we move on to the flight simulation news, you can check out today’s episode of our “Can You Guess this Airport?” video series.

We also have a few flight simulation stories that received their own individual coverage:

  • Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Releases Piper M600 and Free City Update 15; Future Updates Detailed
  • X-Plane 12 Reveals Upcoming Updates and Foundation of “Next-Generation Scenery”
  • T.Flight Hotas 5 Microsoft Flight Simulator Edition Releases for PS5 on Top of PC and PS4

Without further ado, I leave you with today’s flight simulation news.

Thrustmaster Reveals New Peripherals

We start with Thrustmaster, which revealed that the TCA lineup of civilian flight simulation peripherals with licensed Airbus and Boeing branding has sold almost half a million units.

We get the reveal of the TCA Sky Yoke for general aviation aircraft. It’ll come for PC, Xbox, and PS5. A separate TCA Sky Quadrant throttle assembly is also coming.

The yoke will release in Q3 2026 for $199.99. The throttle quadrant will release in Q4 2026 for $79.99.

The company also released an officially licensed Airbus add-on grip for its more advanced flight stick bases. It’ll release before the end of September for $119.99.

Skytrails Announced by Parallel 42

Parallel 42 announced Skytrails, a utility that generates AI and fictional contrails.

The developer describes it as such:

“See contrails from AI Traffic, Live Traffic, and Multiplayer aircraft, or populate the skies with intelligently generated fictional trails when the world feels a little too empty. Adjust visibility requirements, overall length, and visual quality to create anything from realistic atmospheric conditions using live traffic to a dramatic sky with networks of fictional high-altitude trails.”

SayIntentions Announces New Features

The developers of the ATC and traffic suite SayIntentions announced a feature that lets you move the camera at the press of a button to the AI aircraft that is talking on the radios or is being addressed by ATC in collaboration with Parallel 42’s ChasePlane.

The PlateBrief feature has the Navigraph chart appear as soon as you ask for it via text or voice command. They can also be brought up automatically when needed, and you can ask your copilot about the content of the charts themselves.

The new Backtrack feature lets you rewind the situation, and ATC will rewind with you.

PlayBrief and Backtrack are already available to users in the partner supporter tier.

Airbus A380 for MSFS 2024 by iniBuilds Gets New Trailer, Screenshots and Details; Bombardier Global 6000 Teased

iniBuiilds showcased its upcoming Airbus A380 via a trailer, which you can watch above. The trailer also provides an overview of the features you can expect.

At the moment, the aircraft doesn’t have a release window just yet, but we learn that it’ll include an overhauled EFB tablet and the latest flight model tech available in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. This includes Computational Fluid Dynamics and the new fuselage object system, which has the simulator consider the real shape of the aircraft, including the engine nacelles.

Speaking of engines, both the Engine Alliance GP7200 and Rolls-Royce Trent 900 variants will be included, including specific FADEC logic, spool behaviour, thrust response, fuel flow calculations, and ECAM indications.

The Flight Management and Guidance System is reproduced in detail, and Navigraph OANS integration is included. There’s also support for Hoppie and SayIntentions, providing CPDLC and ACARS.

We’ll also have cabin systems like doors, slides, bleed air, pressurisation, packs, and environmental controls, and water management via the Flight Attendant Panel, which is important since there are about 7,000 lavatories in this aircraft. Yes. I’m exaggerating, but you know what I mean.

You can also expect persistent aircraft states across multiple fronts, and failure modelling including ECAM-driven abnormal procedures and interconnected failure behaviour. Bird strikes, engine damage, GPS jamming events, and various operational abnormalities are supported.

If you want to learn more, you can check out the full official post.

Another nice surprise is the tease of the next aircraft from the developer. While it wasn’t named, it’s obviously a Bombardier Global 6000, since the registration “HB-JFX” on the engine is actually that of a real aircraft.

Combat Pilot: Carrier Qualification Reveals Q1 2027 Release Window and More

Entropy Aero provided some news about its Combat Pilot: Carrier Qualification, which will launch in Q1 2026 alongside a demo including the Grumman F4F-3 Wildcat, the Midway Map, a Quick Mission Builder, and the ability to select guns and ordinance.

The simulator itself will add the F4F-4 and the Mitsubishi A6M2 Zero. All aircraft will have clickable cockpits, complex fuel management with drop tanks, realistic gunnery with customizable ammo belts, 3D spatial audio, and VR support.

Further DLC aircraft, which the developer calls “Collector Aircraft,” include the Boeing B-17E Flying Fortress and the Nakajima A6M2-N. These will launch approximately at the same time as Carrier Qualification.

Further plans for the future include new locations like Wake Islands, Coral Sea, and Solomon Islands.

Navigraph Reveals New Features

Navigraph introduced some new features that are coming to the service.

Oceanic Tracks make crossing the ocean much easier. It’ll work straight out of the box with SimBrief.

We’re also getting VFR charts for Brazil, Southeast Asia, and select parts of the Middle East.

Jeppesen charts are getting weekly updates instead of monthly.

The Epic 2 Avionics suite for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will also get Navigraph and SimBrief integration.

We also hear that Taxi Routing and SimLink V2 (announced last year) are still coming, but they’ve proven a bit more complex than expected, so more information will come at a later time.

F-100D Super Sabre Released for DCS World

Grinelli Designs announced that its F-100D Super Sabre module for DCS World is now live and available for purchase.

You can grab it on DCS World’s own store and Steam for $47.99.

You can watch the launch trailer above.

Moza Reveals New Flight Simulation Peripherals

Peripheral manufacturer Moza announced more additions to its flight simulation lineup, including the MA3F Electronic Flight Control module reproducing an Airbus dash and the MA3F and MB7F Flight Computer Displays, which reproduce Airbus and Boeing CDUs.

For general aviation fans, we’ll get the MGX1000 instrument panel, which is inspired by a Garmin G1000, while the FMP18 Panel bundle reproduces the avionics of an F/A-18 fighter jet.

All are designed to connect via a single USB cable and don’t require HDMI ports. They’re also all slated to release in Q3.

Budapest Airport Released for MSFS 2024 as SoFly Presents More of its Lineup

SoFly started its panel by sharing a trailer focusing on new features for AeroTone, coming this summer.

We also get a video showing off the progress made on Cabin Announcement Pro (which is still a working title). We also hear that it’s coming this year for PC and consoles. It’ll be a one-time purchase and more information will be shared in the next few weeks.

The developer also officially confirmed Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport (LHBP), which serves the capital of Hungary, for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. The airport is actually out now for $18.89.

It includes the following features:

  • Up-to-Date Layout – Accurate airport layout with current taxiways, stands, aprons, and airside details.
  • Animated Vehicles and Passengers – A more dynamic airport environment with movement across key areas.
  • Detailed 3D Modelling – Carefully crafted buildings, objects, and airport infrastructure.

They will come in 2027.

Boeing 737 MAX8 Service Pack 1 Released for MSFS 2024 and MSFS 2020

Microsoft Flight Simulator 737Max

While not directly present at FlightSimExpo, iFly released the Service Pack 1 update for its Boeing 737 MAX8 for MSFS 2024 and MSFS 2020.

It includes the following

  • All new tablet-style EFB (Electronic Flight Bag). See the attached image.
  • Cabin voice announcements (with and without GSX).
  • MAX8-200 model with additional functioning emergency exits, which are also reflected on the overhead panel.
  • Visual APU model.
  • Main wheel well model expansion.
  • Updated fuselage exterior model with new details, such as added rivets and additional details.
  • Redrawn cabin material, with additional details.
  • Multiple cabin layouts (166, 178, 189, 197 seats).
  • Updated cockpit materials: more details to differentiate between different material types (see the attached image).
  • Redrawn landing gear material – closer to the real aircraft.
  • General bug fixes including LNAV adjustments in some scenarios.
  • Edit – Adjustments to model for improved VR compatibility in MSFS 2024.
  • Other tweaks and bug fixes not listed here that may arise prior to SP1.

It’s worth mentioning that the version for MSFS 2024 remains “experimental” as it requires extensive workarounds to work. The developers are now focusing on developing a native version for MSFS 2024.

CPDLC support has also been delayed.
