CD Projekt Red has announced that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is getting a brand-new expansion pass, Songs of the Past, along with new minimum requirements ahead of its launch.
Fans of The Witcher franchise have quite a bit to look forward to next year. Alongside the upcoming gorgeous-looking The Witcher 4, players will be able to return to the Path alongside Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past, which will be released for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S in 2027.
At this time, the Nintendo Switch version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt won’t be getting Songs of the Past.
CD Projekt Red is co-developing the game with Fool’s Theory, the same studio that’s also working with CD Projekt Red to develop the remake of The Witcher 1.
In addition to Songs of the Past, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is also getting new system requirements. These reflect a few changes, most notably the upgrade to Windows 11, since Microsoft has ended support for Windows 10. Also, HDDs won’t be supported moving forward, only SSDs.
The new requirements will take place with the next The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt update and are as follows:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600, Intel Core i5-8400
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660, AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT 8GB
- VRAM: 6GB
- RAM: 12GB
- Storage: 70GB SSD
- OS: 64-bit Windows 11
For fans who may not be prepared for these changes, there is a way to revert The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to a previous version to accommodate their setup. CD Projekt Red shared instructions for how to do that here.
More information about The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Songs of the Past will be released this summer.
