Today, Pearl Abyss revealed early details of upcoming content in Crimson Desert, including the game’s first DLC and other major features releasing between June and September.
While they were a bit vague regarding the details, the developers shared that they are hard at work creating the first DLC for Crimson Desert and that it will be a meaningful addition to the player’s journey. For the summer content, there will be everything from new gameplay features to quality-of-life updates.
New combat-focused content will be added, giving players the chance to prove their true strength as a Greymane. Improvements to combat mechanics that are already in the game are coming as well.
Re-Blockade will be reworked to include a new phase that makes the flow before and after a blockade feel more natural, along with new ways to defend certain strongholds against invasion. Rewards will also be improved to make liberating strongholds feel more rewarding.
After taking player feedback into account, the narrative is being refined to make Kliff’s journey more coherent, engaging, and tight. The developers also know that Damiane and Oongka need more focus, so the updates will feature improvements and adjustments to make them more worthwhile playable characters.
Players will even be able to link their account to share save files and continue their journey across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox with the highly requested cross-save feature. Trading, farming, and other supporting gameplay elements will also receive systematic improvements as updates progress, enriching the experience.
For those who may not have heard, Crimson Desert is an open-world action-adventure game developed by Pearl Abyss. After a devastating ambush in the depths of night by their sworn enemies, the Black Bears, leaves members of the Greymanes nearly destroyed, Greymane Kliff is determined to rebuild what was lost.
On a journey where alliances are forged, dangers abound, and mysterious factions are uncovered, Kliff comes to realize that an unprecedented threat and a destiny greater than he imagined await him.
Crimson Desert is available now for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, starting at $69.99. The game has found great success since its release, already surpassing 5 million copies sold in its first month alone.
