Today, Tumbling Dumpling Studio announced that Main Sequence: Space Factory will launch into Steam Early Access on November 12, 2026.
Main Sequence is a first-person space simulation and factory-building game from solo developer Tumbling Dumpling Studio. A demo is available now on Steam, giving players an early look at its combination of space exploration, resource management, factory automation, and interstellar expansion.
Players begin their journey aboard a small mining ship, venturing into a resource-rich asteroid belt to extract and refine materials needed to establish an industrial operation. Players can use resources to construct and upgrade factories, ships, and space stations module by module, and research unlocks advanced technologies that let them travel farther into space and access increasingly valuable resources.
Automation is central to the experience as players expand their facilities and develop increasingly complex industrial operations. Rather than managing every production process manually, players can build systems to handle resource processing and other tasks, letting their operations grow as they push toward distant star systems.
Exploration also plays a major role in Main Sequence, with the galaxy offering abandoned space stations, deep-space resources, and hostile encounters to discover. Players can engage in space combat while traveling beyond the edge of the solar system, combining industrial development with the risks and opportunities of exploring uncharted territory.
The game can be played solo or through online co-op, allowing players to work together as they build and expand their interstellar enterprises. The combination of factory construction, automation, resource management, exploration, and space combat is designed to let players create increasingly large industrial networks across the galaxy.
Main Sequence is being developed by Tumbling Dumpling Studio, a one-person studio run by Kaiden Ho, which has been developing Main Sequence since 2023. Based in Ottawa, Canada, Ho cites games including Factorio, Satisfactory, Star Citizen and Subnautica as inspirations for the project.
Main Sequence is published by UK-based publisher Mythwright, whose portfolio includes Thronefall, Going Medieval, and TerraTech Legion. For more information on this and other upcoming early access simulation titles, be sure to check back to Simulation Daily for updates.
