During the first month, Crimson Desert hit a peak of 276,261 concurrent players on Steam, despite some negative feedback about its controls and lack of a storyline. To their credit, the developers responded to player feedback immediately and have already begun implementing and roadmapping free updates that will add Boss Rematch, Reblocking, enhance replayability, improve balance and immersion, and make several features more convenient and intuitive.

These gameplay updates and system enhancements are scheduled from April through June, with the goal in mind of improving the overall player experience. Crimson Abyss is also working on broader system and graphical improvements, including adjustable font sizes, UI enhancements, customization options for certain controller inputs, and expanded configurable keys for mouse and keyboard controls.

Crimson Desert is an open-world action-adventure game that takes place following a devastating ambush in the depths of night by their sworn enemies, the Black Bears, leaving members of the Greymanes dead or scattered across the continent. Players take the shoes of Greymane Kliff as he navigates both the stunning beauty and cutthroat dangers of Pywel.

The war-torn continent is fully explorable, allowing players to complete quests, defeat dangerous enemies, and unlock powerful items in the hopes of finding fame and glory. On his journey, Kliff forges alliances, overcomes dangers, and uncovers mysterious factions, realizing that an unprecedented threat and a destiny greater than he imagined await him.

Crimson Desert is available now for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, starting at $69.99. Be sure to check back to Simulation Daily for more updates, including upcoming patches and possible upcoming DLC or future content roadmap plays from Pearl Abyss.
