Woodo, a puzzle game with the aesthetic of a 3D coloring book, has a set release date. Tiny Monks Tales and Daedalic Entertainment have announced that Woodo will be out next month on September 16.
Described as a “narrative diorama builder,” Woodo follows the story of two characters named Foxy and Ben the frog. Players assemble wooden scenes piece by piece, bringing color to each set as objects are placed in the correct spot. The 3D set must be turned around and carefully explored in order to find the correct spots for each object and find missing pieces, and each item placed brings the diorama to life.
While players work to put the puzzle pieces together, a calming narrator shares a story of carefree childhood days and nostalgia. The story is described as simple but meaningful, and there are lots of characters to meet as the dioramas are assembled.
In addition to the release date news, Tiny Monks Tales and Daedalic Entertainment also announced that Woodo will feature a full voiceover in eight languages at launch: English, German, Chinese, Japanese, French, Russian, Spanish, and Korean. Miriam Teak-Lee, who is known for her role as Juliet Capulet in the jukebox musical & Juliet, provides the voice of Foxy for the English narration. Woodo will release on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on September 16. Players who preorder on console will receive a 20% discount, and those who purchase the game on Switch will receive a free upgrade to the Switch 2 version. Additionally, there is an Endless Summer Edition at launch that includes the full game, the digital soundtrack with 34 tracks, and the Support Pack DLC with added content. A demo is also available if you want to get a feel for how Woodo plays.
