The release date for Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest has been announced. Trailmark Games revealed that the popular book series by Erin Hunter will come to life when the game launches later this year on October 23.
The news comes from a trailer that was posted to YouTube today. In the release date trailer, get some new gameplay footage and hear the voice of a narrator, who is possibly a clan leader, for the first time. The voiceover talks to an apprentice at their warrior ceremony, asking if they promise to protect their clan even at the cost of their life. Then, the narrative describes an apprentice, paired with a mentor, beginning their fateful journey and starting their training.
Some of the footage in the trailer includes a battle against a badger, a leader (possibly Squirrelstar?) addressing her clan at the top of the Highledge, navigation through the forest, a multi-cat battle against two dogs, and more.
There will be three game types: Prophecy mode (four original stories about the trials and tribulations of clan life), Defender mode (test how long you can last in turn-based battle against the fiercest enemies in a single run), and Skirmish mode (battle other players online asynchronously). Players will recognize six locations from the lake territories: ThunderClan territory, RiverClan territory, ShadowClan territory, WindClan territory, the Moonpool, and The Island. There will also be nine cats from the book series in the game.
Players who preorder the game digitally will receive the Purrfect Look Pack, which includes cosmetic options such as larger ears, wiry whiskers, a spotted fur pattern, and a bushy tail.
There will be two editions of the game. The Standard Edition costs $29.99, and the Feral Edition will cost $39.99. The Feral Edition contains the Prophecy Pack, which includes eight accessories in the cat creator, 12 wearable accessories, cel-shaded character skins, four cat poses for photo mode, and four photo mode effects.
Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest will release on PC, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on October 23, 2026.
