Trailmark Games has announced a new turn-based RPG inspired by the Warrior Cats book series. Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest will release on PC and consoles this fall.
Warrior Cats is a popular children’s book series with over 100 books spanning the past two decades. For the first time, fans of the franchise will be able to create their own custom cat to hunt prey, hone skills, and defend their clan against rival warriors and enemies in an official game. Players can choose which Clan to live in: ThunderClan, RiverClan, WindClan, or ShadowClan, each with its own unique campaign to play through.
There will be a wide variety of customization options, such as choosing fur pattern, colors, and markings, as well as personalization of dens with bedding and decorations. Players will have the opportunity to show off their personalized character to friends during asynchronous online den visits. Additionally, the game will have turn-based combat against rival Clan cats and enemies such as snakes, dogs, and badgers.
Players will be able to explore the actual territories from the books with recognizable landmarks, secret areas, and environmental puzzles. It also seems like some of the iconic cats from the books exist in the game; for example, Brightheart from ThunderClan is shown in the trailer.
As players rise through the ranks of their Clan, their actions shape their relationships and legacies. The campaigns feature branching storylines based on choices, making each playthrough a personal journey to follow StarClan’s destiny.

Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest will release this fall on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.
This seems to be a great season for games featuring cats, with games like Cat Me If You Can and Tiny Eden also releasing later this year.
