Today, it was announced that the Warhammer Classics preservation project would bring seven games from the series to Steam for the first time, while also restoring 12 more with updates.
The Warhammer Classics initiative is a new preservation label launched by Games Workshop in partnership with the boutique publisher SNEG. The initiative aims to restore and safeguard the legacy of Warhammer’s foundational PC games, making more than 20 vintage titles accessible on modern hardware via Steam.
Each game has been updated with compatibility fixes and performance tweaks to ensure they run smoothly on modern PCs while maintaining their original gameplay experience. Games previously unavailable on the platform that have now been added as a part of the initiative include:
- Warhammer: Shadow of the Horned Rat
- Warhammer: Dark Omen
- Warhammer: Mark of Chaos – Gold Edition
- Warhammer 40K: Chaos Gate
- Warhammer 40K: Rites of War
- Final Liberation: Warhammer Epic 40,000
- Warhammer 40K: FPS Fire Warrior
Alongside titles making their Steam debuts, the sale includes games such as Talisman: The Horus Heresy, Chainsaw Warrior, Warhammer Underworlds – Shadespire Edition, and more. You can get a lot of these titles. like Blood Bowl – Chaos Edition and Space Hulk: Tactics, for upwards of 90% off.
The event also features limited-time bundles, allowing you to save up to $300 if you decide you want to purchase a collection of the greatest titles from the annals of Warhammer video game history, spanning the last 30 years.
