Gaming Factory has revealed that JDM: Japanese Drift Master is getting a free story expansion that focuses on Ayumi, one of the boss characters players encounter.
Players will follow Ayumi’s life from her early childhood in her story chapter. This period of her life is, unfortunately, shadowed by trauma, and players will get a first look at how racing changed her life from the start.
Ayumi’s story will include eight new gameplay events, which also include the iconic manga-style narration that the rest of the game features. Plus, by completing Ayumi’s story, players will unlock Ayumi’s signature boss car. A trailer for Ayumi’s story, which features the unlockable car, can be viewed below:
JDM: Japanese Drift Master players will be able to experience Ayumi’s story on July 29, 2026, on all platforms (PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S).
The free update will also include several adjustments and bug fixes, too. Some of the ones that have already been revealed include the following:
- Removal of several invisible objects and ground surfaces that were causing collisions around the open world
- Improvements to AMD cars’ e-brakes
- Re-added tire pressure settings
- Fixes to the mirror graphics settings, which weren’t saving between game launches
More fixes will also be part of the free update, though detailed information will be available closer to the launch date.
JDM: Japanese Drift Master players have gotten quite a bit of new content in the past months. The PC multiplayer feature recently launched, and there was quite a bit of anniversary content revealed earlier this year.
