Today, iRacing Studios and NASCAR officially announced NASCAR 26, the latest installment in the NASCAR video game franchise, launching September 18, 2026, for PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.
NASCAR 26 introduces a variety of new features designed to deliver a more authentic race weekend experience, building on the foundation of last year’s title considerably. Headlining the improvements is a dynamic track system, where racing conditions evolve throughout practice, qualifying, and the race, affecting grip levels and how each car handles over time.
Players can also look forward to cross-platform multiplayer, burnouts, an enhanced driving model, new tracks, and an expanded Career Mode, with additional gameplay features set to be revealed in the dev diary below:
- Dynamic Track Surface: Tracks will now evolve throughout races, creating a changing racing line and grip levels.
- AI Driver DNFs: Opponent AI can now suffer mechanical failures and crash out of races.
- Enhanced Presentation: Broadcast integrations and updated cutscenes have been added to make the race day feel like a real televised event.
- The Chase Format: The newly updated real-world Chase format is included, featuring both a full Career mode and a standalone mode where players can select participants for the final 10 races.
- Expanded Roster & Tracks: The Qualcomm Circuit at Naval Base Coronado in San Diego is included as a base track.
Cover athlete Kyle Larson leads the charge for NASCAR 26, which once again includes all four premier NASCAR series: NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, and ARCA Menards Series. Each series features officially licensed drivers, teams, and cars, continuing the franchise’s focus on authenticity.
Two editions of the game will be available: Standard Edition and Gold Edition. Anyone who purchases this will get early access three days early, on September 15, 2026. Pricing, pre-order details, and the full contents of the Gold Edition will be revealed alongside the first gameplay trailer on July 29, 2026.
NASCAR 26 is once again being developed by iRacing Studios, which officially took over the series last year with NASCAR 25. Founded in 2003 by Dave Kaemmer, co-founder of Papyrus Design Group, and John Henry, principal owner of the Boston Red Sox and Liverpool Football Club, iRacing has spent more than two decades developing realistic motorsports experiences.
The studio has partnered with major organizations across the racing world, including NASCAR, INDYCAR, the FIA, the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team, as well as numerous manufacturers, race tracks, and racing series to deliver authentic simulation experiences for players.
