According to the press release, Net Bookings (which you can approximately identify with sales) were $1.39 billion, down 3% year-on-year, but still slightly above expectations.

The company also confirmed its prediction for the full fiscal year, which will end on March 31, 2027.

Total net bookings are expected to be between $8 billion and $8.2 billion. That’s between $1.2 billion and $1.5 billion more than the past fiscal year.

Net income is expected to be $104 million to $143 million.

We also get the usual statement from Strauss Zelnick, Chairman and CEO of Take-Two, who talked about the release of GTA6 and more.

“Our excellent first quarter results reflect the power of our portfolio and disciplined execution across all of our labels. With these positive trends and excitement around the November 19th launch of Grand Theft Auto VI, we are reiterating our Fiscal 2027 Net Bookings outlook of $8.0 to $8.2 billion. Looking further
ahead, we expect to sustain this new level of scale and generate strong cash flows, setting us on a path to deliver continued growth and long-term shareholder returns.”

Take-Two also shared the total lifetime sales of its most successful games, with GTA5 exceeding expectations as usual. It has now shipped over 230 million copies.

The Grand Theft Auto franchise has now shipped nearly 475 million units.

Red Dead Redemption 2 has now passed 87 million units shipped. The franchise as a whole has passed 116 million units.

If you’d like to compare with historical data, you can check out Take-Two’s financial results from the previous quarter, announced in May.

Other gaming companies have already announced their financial results this quarter, including Koei Tecmo, Capcom, Microsoft, Konami, Sony, Bandai Namco, Nintendo, and Sega. You can expect more reports on this topic in the coming days and weeks.
