Nintendo has announced its financial results for the fiscal year that ended on March 31, 2026, alongside new official sales figures for the Nintendo Switch 2 and more.
According to the official documents, the Switch 2 has now shipped 19.86 million units, which means that the last quarter saw 2.49 million units sold to retailers. Lifetime software sales are now at 48.71 million units.
This means that Nintendo’s console has sold one million units more than Sony’s PS5 during the quarter. It’s also almost a million units above the forecast for the year, which was at 19 million units.
Sparkling of sales, Nintendo also announced a price hike for its consoles and services, starting with Japan, effective as of May 25, 2026.

The company also announced its forecast for the current fiscal year, which will end on March 31, 2027. It’s at 16.5 million units.
Moving on to specific financial results, net sales for the year were 2,313 billion yen, up 98.6% year on year. Operating profit was 360.1 billion yen, up 27.5% year-on year.
We also learned that Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream has shipped 3.8 million units in the two weeks after its release. Pokémon Pokopia has shipped 4 million units in five weeks, while FireRed and LeafGeen have also sold over 4 million units cumulatively in six weeks.
