According to the documents provided by Capcom, net sales were 70,410 million yen (up 54.7% year-on-year), while operating profit was 41,054 million yen (up 66.9% year-on-year).

Looking at the Digital Contents business, which includes video games, net sales were 54,648 million yen (up 83.0% year-on-year), and operating profit was 37,597
million yen (up 87.5% year-on-year).

This was achieved thanks to Pragmata, which shipped over 2.5 million copies. Resident Evil Requiem, which was released in the previous fiscal year and keeps selling well. It passed 8 million units shipped.

More strong sellers from Capcom’s catalogue lineup included Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil 2, and Monster Hunter games. Devil May Cry 5 also reached a cumulative sell-in of 14 million units thanks to the synergy with the anime.

Interestingly, both Resident Evil 4, 2, and 3 sold better than Requiem during the quarter, units-wise. RE4 shipped 2.43 million units between April and June. RE2 shipped 1.42 million units. RE3 shipped 1.15 million units. Requiem shipped 1.14 million units.

The Resident Evil franchise has now shipped a whopping 213 million units, while Monster Hunter is at 131 million units.

Other gaming companies have already announced their financial results this quarter, including Koei Tecmo. You can expect more reports on this topic in the coming days and weeks.
