Today, Straight4 Studios released the patch notes for the latest update for its hit racing sim, Project Motor Racing Update 2.0.0.6, which is set to release tomorrow, June 23, 2026.
Project Motor Racing Update 2.0.0.6 introduces major improvements to vehicle setups, a fully reworked slipstream physics model, and foundational support for the new GT Icons Pack. The patch also refines handling, multiplayer racing dynamics, and gameplay stability across all platforms.
Third spring adjustment options will be available for high-downforce cars, including LMDh models, to help maintain aerodynamic stability and reduce track scraping. LMDh vehicles also gain brake duct tuning, allowing teams to manage brake temperatures and their effect on tire heat and pressure.
The slipstream model has been overhauled for more consistent and balanced drafting. These changes aim to encourage closer racing and more overtaking in multiplayer events.

AI drivers will return to the pit lane after the checkered flag, fixing a post-race issue that left some cars stranded, and race start behavior will feature sharper, more realistic launches from AI opponents. Additional balancing work has been done at Mount Panorama Circuit and Derby, with targeted improvements to AI pace and racecraft.
Performance adjustments have been made for the Group C, GT1, and MX-5 Cup classes to improve competitiveness. Console Project Motor Racing players will now be able to save and load replays, adding a long-requested feature to the platform.
The update also includes redesigned race flag alerts and low-fuel warning indicators to improve visibility during events, as well as a custom button to toggle the HUD while driving. Another simple but important UI change is that penalty notifications now appear on the left side of the screen to reduce distractions.
Environmental visuals have been updated with revised track textures that create smoother transitions between seasonal conditions, and a dedicated Spring setting has been added, featuring blooming trees and foliage across affected circuits. Further visual improvements in Project Motor Racing Update 2.0.0.6 include fixes to level-of-detail transitions across multiple track layouts, reducing noticeable asset popping, and creating a more seamless racing experience.
Lastly, the GT Icons Pack is also set to arrive tomorrow. This pack adds nine legendary cars from a defining era of sports-car racing when raw power, mechanical grip, rudimentary aerodynamics, and driver skill were the key ingredients for success. It even features three classes from the late 1960s and early 1970s, highlighting different approaches to speed and the iconic cars of the era. New Career Mode events built around the GT Icons Pack are also included in the update.
