Today, Astragon Entertainment announced that a closed playtest for Bus Simulator 27 on PC is now open for sign-ups. Applications for the upcoming beta build are open until July 14, 2026, at 14:00 CEST, and interested players can apply directly via the official Bus Simulator Playtest Portal.
The news of this closed playtest follows the recent public demo during Steam Next Fest. The demo included an introductory mission designed to teach the fundamentals of bus driving.
After completing this tutorial, you’ll be able to drive through Medina, a Mediterranean city featuring not only a scenic beachfront promenade but also a stunning historic old town, and take the wheel of the new Solaris Urbino for the first time in the series. This demo proved so successful that it prompted developer Simteract and publisher Astragon Entertainment to prepare a broader closed beta test for the PC version of Bus Bound.
Set in the fictional region of Felicia Bay, Bus Simulator 27 features a Southern European environment inspired by the Iberian Peninsula. Players can explore two major cities, Alcatelar and Mckina, as well as more than 20 unique districts.
Bus Bound will include the largest vehicle roster in the series, with more than 45 officially licensed buses from 13 manufacturers. The full release will include Story, Career and Sandbox modes, along with support for up to four-player cooperative multiplayer.
Players interested in the closed beta can also watch gameplay from the recent Steam Next Fest demo before applying for a chance to participate. Selected players will receive early access to the latest build ahead of launch.
If you’re unfamiliar with Bus Simulator 2027, it was announced by Astragon in February and is being developed by Simteract, which is best known for Taxi Life. The previous title, Bus Simulator 21, was highly successful, with more than 7 million players having stepped behind the wheel since its release in 2021.
