We learn that a completely new model and cockpit are being built from the ground up, and Eagle Dynamics claims that this is “the most detailed aircraft model ever created for a flight simulator,” with “every rivet, panel joint, and wear mark has been rendered with photorealistic accuracy.”

The wing mechanics have been rebuilt without being simplified, including flaps, slats, ailerons, and airbrake flaps.

Pylons, adapters, fuel tanks, and external weapons have been produced by a single artist as a single project so they fit perfectly with each other.

We also hear that the cockpit will set a new standard for DCS World, including dynamic ambient occlusion that changes as the canopy opens and closes, animated shadows behind every dial and switch, and new lighting tech simulating full ray-tracing.

Incidentally, as it has been done for the MiG-29, cockpit labels will be available optionally in English on top of Russian.

If you’re unfamiliar with DCS World, it’s a free-to-play flight simulator focusing on military aviation from World War 2 to the present day. It’s available exclusively for PC.

While the sim is free-to-play, it pretty much requires paid modules to be fully enjoyed, including aircraft, campaigns, and maps. That being said, Eagle Dynamics has a robust free trial program for said modules.

Recently, the MiG-29A Fulcrum has also been released in early access, followed by the C-130J Hercules, and the F-100D Super Sabre, while a new map for the Balkans has been announced.

We also jot the “2026 and Beyond” trailer with the reveal of the Rafale by Hearblur, which is also working on an Eurofighter Typhoon.
