Frontier Development has been hard at work since the launch of Planet Zoo 2 earlier in the month, and today the team has pushed out Update 1.0.8, which improves several areas of the game.
Notably, the developers have added extra measures to prevent loss of progress or animals in career and sandbox mode. They fixed an issue in Franchise mode that caused animals in release groups to be lost if the game crashed or disconnected. Those who have been affected by this issue will automatically have their lost animals replaced with new animals in their wildlife reserves.
Furthermore, there was an issue that caused some players to see a large negative amount of Conservation Credits. This has been fixed, and players affected have had their credits reset to 10,000.
The development team has also made changes to the save menu UI that prevent players from overwriting their save files by mistake. The save menu now separates saves made in the current location, and it highlights the currently loaded save. This way, players won’t mistake their current save file for an older one.
There have been a variety of bug fixes, including stability and performance improvements, as well as fixes in franchise and sandbox modes, animals and exhibits, park management and construction, workshop, settings, and localization.

The Planet Zoo 2 team continues to monitor the game for issues and has been sharing their latest high-priority targets that are under investigation for future updates. Currently, ongoing areas of focus include animals jumping movements, animals not aligning with their enrichments correctly, animals erroneously escaping from habitats, enhancements to the core creative toolset, improvements to guest behaviors, and repeated boxing and unboxing of animals.
Update 1.0.8 is out now, and the next planned game update is targeting the week of November 2.
