HoYoverse has revealed the release date for Petit Planet, its upcoming cozy galactic life simulation game, as well as a console announcement for the game. Petit Planet will release on PC, iOS, and Android with cross-platform support on December 4, and it will be coming to Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027.
In Petit Planet, players take on the role of a character working for Loomi Co. and are tasked with developing a small planetoid. They can befriend three anthropomorphic animal companions while they explore the galaxy. There are opportunities along the way to craft furniture, decorate the planet, go fishing, tend to a farm, and other cozy activities.
Today, the development team aired a pre-launch special program that detailed information about the game and what players can expect. The video explained how players will begin their journey by planting a seed that grows into a “Luca Arbor,” which provides vitality to the planet, influences its ecosystem, and allows players to customize the appearance of the planet. Players can gather materials across the Starsea to decorate their homes.
Exploration and social play are central to the core gameplay of Petit Planet. Players will meet characters like Mobai, Yunguo, and Mors, and they can visit other players’ planets as well. There are activities to deepen relationships with neighbors, such as fishing and beetle battles. The Galactic Bazaar is the game’s social hub with things to do like minigames, auctions, an interactive cafe, and seasonal events.
The developers plan to continuously update Petit Planet with gameplay expansions, additional social features, and additions to the ecology archive, beginning with the Season of Snowfall and upcoming holiday events. Ultimately, the team wishes for players to feel like the game is a second home.
