Pocketpair has officially launched Palworld 1.0, and the massive update includes an impressive 27 pages of patch notes, featuring new areas, Pals, mechanics, story content, and plenty more.
To kick things off, Palworld has 47 new Pals and 25 variant Pals added in 1.0, bringing the grand total of Pals to 287. Additionally, players can use the new Awakening mechanic to make their Pals stronger than before, and over 200 Pals have had their Partner Skills reworked (along with plenty of active skill changes and additions).
Additionally, there are several new areas to explore, including the floating islands of Sunreach and the infamous World Tree, which has long been a mysterious area in the Early Access story.
Speaking of the story, Palworld 1.0 has had major updates to the story flow and main missions. Now, players will naturally explore the Palpagos and progress the story content at the same time, making the two more intertwined than they were before. And, of course, the mysteries of the islands and the World Tree have answers now.
There are also more story-driven missions and journals to find around Palworld that add to the story and worldbuilding. There are also new NPCs that do the same.
Additionally, Tower Bosses have been upgraded with totally unique visual designs, and many of them have new skills and motions. The time limit for taking these down has been reduced from 10 minutes to 5 minutes, and their stats have been changed to make it doable in that time frame.
Rebalancing and other improvements are also rampant in Palworld 1.0. The Pal habits have been rebalanced, changing around the placement and levels of Pals around the islands. New passive skills have also been added, along with improvements to riding controls.
Other changes include the following:
- New Pal motions
- Reworked player motions
- Work Suitability Levels have been readjusted
- Capture Bonus requirements lowered
- Increased level cap
- New equipment, like the Wing Pack, Plasma Multicutter, and new Weapons
- Graphics improvements
- Sound improvements
Building has also gotten an upgrade with Palworld 1.0, adding the ability to build on shorelines and even extend into the sea. There are also new building parts and decorations.
The raid system has also been reworked. Enemies will come at bases in a wave-based system, and the enemies that come depend on where players’ bases are. Plus, a negotiator will come to your base prior to being attacked. By paying money, players can avoid the raid.
For those playing in multiplayer groups, there are also new features like an in-game voice chat and Discord integration. Improvements to guilds have also been made.
Of course, with 27 pages of patch notes, there are even more updates, like new breeding features, new settlements, and a Wildlife Sanctuary overhaul. Check out the full patch notes for Palworld 1.0 here.
