Pocketpair has shared that Palworld, the creature-collecting game that’s been in Early Access for 2.5 years, has seen 40 million players. This achievement comes just days before the game is set to have its 1.0 launch.

To celebrate the support and success of Palworld already, Pocketpair shared a look at Palworld’s journey over its Early Access period, which included several major updates:

  • April 2024: Raids Update
  • June 2024: Sakurajima Update
  • December 2024: Feybreak Update
  • March 2025: Crossplay Update
  • June 2025: Terraria Update
  • December 2025: Home Sweet Home Update

When Palworld first launched in January 2024, it came with the main archipelago to explore, 137 different Pals to battle and collect, and a level cap of 50.

The April 2024 update, v0.2, introduced Raid bosses with the Bellanoir twins. The Sakurajima update was next in June 2024, introducing the new zone, Sakurajima Island, and 24 new Pals. It also brought a new Tower boss, a new Faction, an Arena Mode, and a Hard Mode for Towers

2024 ended with the Feybreak Update, which introduced the Feybreak Island, another 24 Pals, and another Faction. This massive update added a plethora of new features, along with Hardcore mode.

2025 kicked off with the crossplay update, giving players a chance to play with their friends across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. Photo Mode, a global Pal box, and more were also included.

The Terraria crossover was released in June 2025, adding 20 new Pals and a new zone, Terraria Island. It also added fishing, salvaging, Pal trust, and more.

2025 ended with the Home Sweet Home update, making building even better than before and adding another collaboration with Ultrakill. This is also when the Steam Workshop support was added, which lets PC players easily integrate mods into their game.

That brings the current level cap in Palworld to 65, and a grand total of 215 Pals are in the game. And that’s not all — Palworld has grown so much that Pocketpair announced an official card game with Bushiroad, and the developers worked hard to keep its game alive despite major backlash and legal action from Nintendo. There’s also a cozy spin-off on the way as well, Palworld: Palfarm.

Despite these massive updates, the Palworld Version 1.0 update will be larger than anything Pocketpair has released yet. It will add new Pals, weapons, items, areas, and even overhauls of current systems. Players can check out the cinematic trailer for the 1.0 launch here on YouTube.

Players can also look back on the changes over the past 2.5 years in the video celebrating 40 million Palworld players below:

Palworld is available now in Early Access on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Its 1.0 launch is scheduled for July 10, 2026. Despite originally planning to increase the price of the game for 1.0, Pocketpair announced on X that it’s keeping the Early Access price of $29.99.
