Price increases for consoles and accessories take effect today, while game prices will remain the same until the holiday season, although no exact date was given. The company announced that it would be increasing the cost of Xbox consoles, controllers, and games to combat changing market conditions and rising development costs.

Some of the most notable changes coming alongside these price hikes include a $100 increase for the Xbox Series X, an $80 increase for the Xbox Series S 1TB, and a $130 increase for the Xbox Series X 2TB Galaxy Special Edition. Most first-party games will now also be $79.99 for both physical and digital games, but it’s still unclear which ones will fall into that category.

All we currently know is that the prices of existing games will not change. You can see the full detailed list of changes for pricing in the US below:

  • Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 (Core) – $149.99
  • Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 (Full) – $199.99
  • Xbox Series S 1TB – $429.99
  • Xbox Series S 512 – $379.99
  • Xbox Series X – $599.99
  • Xbox Series X 2TB Galaxy Special Edition – $729.99
  • Xbox Series X Digital – $549.99
  • Xbox Stereo Headset – $64.99
  • Xbox Wireless Controller (Color) – $69.99
  • Xbox Wireless Controller (Core) – $64.99
  • Xbox Wireless Controller – Limited Edition – $89.99
  • Xbox Wireless Controller – Special Edition – $79.99
  • Xbox Wireless Headset – $119.99

Headset pricing will also change, but this only applies to the U.S. and Canada.

Microsoft is the second of the big three console manufacturers to raise pricing so far in 2025. Back in April, Nintendo announced it would need to increase the cost of the Nintendo Switch 2 after two of the most notable hardware producers, Vietnam and China, were hit with tariffs from the United States.
