The cat is out of the bag, Lollipop Chainsaw 2 Back2Back has been revealed during a stage event at Tokyo Game Show.
The game was teased back in July, and besides the official title, we learn that it’ll be developed by JP Universe. You may be familiar with the name, as it’s the studio founded by Final Fantasy XV director Hajime Tabata.
Tabata-san himself takes on the role of co-Producer. Below you can see the official logo of the game.

You can also take a look at the trailer aired during the stage event below.
The stage event ended with another surprise, and it’s the announcement that Lollipop Chainsaw will be adapted in a live-action movie produced by Kirk Shaw of Ambitious Entertainment and Robert Franke of Orange Chariot.-
The press release that accompanied the announcement included a comment from Project IP Producer and Game Producer Joe Teng:
“ Lollipop Chainsaw is an IP with enormous potential for continued growth. While preserving the core elements that make the original game so special—including its spirit and unique world—we plan to develop not only the new game, but also a variety of other project across the franchise.
Rather than treating this as a one-off project, we want to build and expand the IP over the long term through ongoing initiatives. Our hope is to introduce Lollipop Chainsaw to as manypeople as possible, give them the opportunity to experience its unique world, and ultimately inspire them to become fans of the franchise.”
We also hear from Head of the LOLLIPOP CHAINSAW Business
“When Lollipop Chainsaw first debuted 14 years ago, it was a truly unique, punk-inspired experience that combined the exhilarating action of cute cheerleader Juliet wielding a rugged chainsaw and taking down hordes of undead with her agile moves, along with dialogue and a story filled with dark humor. From the very beginning, I wanted more people to discover this distinctive world.
Twelve years later, we released the remake, Lollipop Chainswa RePOP, and seeing it embraced by people of all ages around the world reaffirmed my belief in the timelessappeal of the franchise. Now, in 2026, I am truly delighted that we are able to announce the latest title together with our new partner, Nada Holdings. With an anime currently in production, as well as the live-action feature film announced today, I am already filled with anticipation and excitement to see Juliet’s world expand beyond the games and truly flourish in new ways.”
Lastly, we hear from Development Director Yasuaki Nasu.
“Our goal is to make Juliet a star of this era—someone whom not only men but also women find “cute” and “charming.” She’s someone you can’t help but follow with your eyes and want to keep watching. And once you actually play the game, she’s someone you’ll want to keep controlling.
That’s the kind of character we’re aiming for. We view the world depicted in the previous game as just a part of the Lollipop Chainsaw universe, and in this installment, we’ve expanded that world itself. It features a classic Lollipop Chainsaw-style showdown between Juliet and “a certain zombie.” You’ll move around on roller skates while chaining together chainsaw attack and cheerleading moves. It feels great to play and is fun just to watch. We’re delivering that kind of experience, so please look forward to it.”
