Kunos Simulazioni and 505 Games have released Update 0.8 for Assetto Corsa EVO, adding three new licensed cars, South Africa’s Kyalami track, better VR support, and user-generated content integration for multiplayer.
To start with, there are three fully licensed cars in the Assetto Corsa EVO Update 0.8: KTM X-Bow GT2, KTM X-Bow GT4, and Volkswagen Golf 8 R.
The KTM X-Bow GT2 features a lightweight carbon body and a five-cylinder turbo engine. It focuses on function over aesthetics, and the KTM X-Bow GT4 follows the same philosophy, just with GT4 regulations.
The Volkswagen Golf 8 R is an all-wheel-drive, all-weather performance option for players who are looking for something comfortable and still competitive.

Assetto Corsa EVO Update 0.8 also adds the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit, a historic circuit in South Africa. The track is outside of Johannesburg, and its high altitude gives players a new challenge as the thin air affects engine output and aerodynamic load.

Update 0.8 also takes the next step for user-generated content as players can now bring their community-created cars into multiplayer. Additionally, creators now have access to external livery creation support.
This won’t affect the integrity of online matches — an SHA verification layer will stop cars that are modified or have the wrong mod versions before they can play to keep things fair.
This new update is also the biggest VR update Assetto Corsa EVO has had. It reworks the headset experience and performance to make playing the racing sim more clear and comfortable. It does this in part by concentrating rendering effort based on where the player’s eyes are looking.
VR players also have more controls and optimization options specifically geared towards VR play. It also now has its own video-settings profile to make it easier to adjust the settings that matter.
Other smaller improvements were also included in Assetto Corsa EVO Update 0.8. Players can check out the full changelog here in the official update notes.
