SCS Software has released the 1.59 Update for American Truck Simulator, bringing several new features like Tow to Road and new UI/UX options.
To start with, an update to the route advisor adds a finance and damage widget. This shows players any damage to the truck and trailer, as well as any damage to the cargo. It also highlights the past seven days’ average profit.
These widgets were requested by the community after the new route advisor was introduced in Update 1.58. There are also plans to add more to the new route advisor, as well as add more improvements.
The widgets can be turned on and off.
The Tow to Road feature is also now officially in American Truck Simulator with Update 1.59. This is a quality-of-life addition that lets players quickly get back on the road when their truck gets stuck or overturned.
All players will need to do is pay a small fee, and they’ll be put back on the road instead of being towed to a different location.
Additionally, there are several changes to various UI and UX interfaces across the simulator. For example, the Skills Screen has had a visual rework to become more clear, the news banner has been improved, and the world map has been made easier to use for those using controllers.
Other changes include the following:
- Traffic Sound redesign (softer sounds for better ambience)
- Height Blend improvements (which helps graphic issues)
- Detour Feature has been temporarily disabled to improve it
