Aerosoft and Toliss recently released their majestic Airbus A340-600 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and MSFS 2020, and we took it for a spin.
You’re about to see an (almost) full flight from Frankfurt Airport (EDDF) in Germany to King Khalid International Airport (OERK) serving Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
This is a reproduction of a real-world Lufthansa flight (DLH662), and one of the most interesting routes flown by the Airbus A340-600, flying over the scenic Austrian Alps, the full length of the Balkans and Greece, across the Mediterranean Sea, over Egypt, and across the Red Sea and Saudi Arabia.
I said “almost” full flight as we skipped a couple of small portions of it to test the aircraft’s innovative fast travel feature, on top of other perks like replays, time acceleration, and more. That being said, it’s still a massive 5-hour video for you to enjoy.
Of course, you can skip to specific moments, and you’ll find clickable chapters on YouTube if you so wish.
It’s worth mentioning that, while the flight is performed in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, the A340-600 is fully flyable in MSFS 2020 as well. It’s available on Aerosoft’s store for PC. An Xbox release is planned for the future, and it’d be surprising if it did not come to PS5 as well, at some point, when the marketplace opens for third-party developers.
The flight plan is as follows, in case you want to fly the same route.
EDDF/18 N0467F370 CIND5L CINDY Z74 LAMPU DCT NOMBO Y161 MAH DCT VAVOR DCT RADIZ DCT EVAXI DCT DARZA DCT PINDO DCT PAXIS Y707 OBRAN L321 REXUM M872 FYM/N0475F390 M872 WEJ L604 GAS G662 SIVIS SIVI1A OERK/15R
As usual, this is not a review. Following our philosophy on the subject, this is an extensive overview designed to give you the tools to decide whether this aircraft is worth your money or not.
