The schedule generator now has presets, allowing you to generate your flights more easily. You can also tell the generator to provide you with a flight that would happen today or to ignore the date.

There are also plenty of quality-of-life and UI improvements, on top of the usual healthy ration of fixes.

Below you can read the patch notes, directly from Volanta’s Discord.

Premium Enhancements

  • Presets are now available in the schedule generator, allowing you to save your generation settings. The last used preset will now be loaded automatically when you use the generator.
  • The schedule generator will now also try to generate flights that are scheduled today, but we also added an option to ignore the day of the week to have a wider selection of flights.

Enhancements

  • Added groups to aircraft pages to organize aircraft into folders, allowing you to see combined statistics for a certain airline or aircraft type. What groups you create is up to you, but we added automatic organization options for airline, aircraft type and aircraft family. You can see in depth statistics per group on the new fleet statistics page and can compare groups to each other. Not interested in groups? The aircraft list’s design has not changed.
  • We also added a compact view to aircraft lists, as well as the ability to delete aircraft or assign them to a group by right clicking them on their previews.
  • The scenery scanner will now be able to find sceneries in the Community2024 folder, as well as read 2024 native sceneries including the newly released KATL Atlanta Airport by Orbx. We added a reset button to the scenery scanner settings in case
  • Added a hide landing rates across Volanta setting in general settings. This option removes landing rate displays in the app from flights, profiles everywhere, including other users. Landing events will still show the position of the landing, ground speed and wind information. The data is not lost, simply turn off the setting to show all landing rates again.
  • Added customizable, always visible aircraft labels on the map, which can be turned on from the map layer settings on the righthand panel. You can customize label backgrounds, as well as the information that should appear on them.
  • Improved FlightGear plugin layout and updated installation instructions.
  • Added adjustable minimums for rain mm/hr and a new higher default value of 2mm for the weather layer.

Fixes

  • Fixed the “No Airport” option in airport dropdowns not actually removing the origin, destination or alternate airport on active and completed flights.
  • Fixed fuel burn sometimes being calculated erroneously due to one-time, outlier fuel on board values.
  • Exiting the app after having clicked on an airport will no longer load back the airport filer, preventing the accidental hiding of aircraft from the map.
  • Offline mode will now be activated more aggressively if your internet connection slows down or cuts out.
  • The website will no longer automatically attempt to open the desktop app when trying to access operations only supported in the browser, such as payment with Paypal or authentication with Navigraph.

If you’re unfamiliar with Volanta, it’s a flight-tracking application published by Orbx that is free to download and comes with a growing set of features on top of the basic ability to track your flights.

You can also opt to pay a premium subscription monthly or yearly to unlock even more advanced features like Scheduled Pause and more. Subscribers can also get early access to updates.

Volanta is platform-agnostic, so it works with all major flight simulators, including Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, X-Plane, DCS World, Prepar3D, and more.

It’s currently available for PC, Xbox, iOS, and Android, on top of a handy web browser version, which you can check out without an account to see who’s flying at any given time.
