During an event at Tokyo Game Show 2024, Koei Tecmo announced Venus Vacation Prism – Dead or Alive Xtreme.
Many thought that the history of the Dead or Alive Xtreme series on console had come to an end with the move to free-to-play of Dead or Alive Xtreme Venus Vacation, but looks like rumors of its demise have been greatly exaggerated.
Hot on the heels of the nearly seven years of successful run of the free-to-play mobile and PC title, the spin-off of the Dead or Alive fighting games will be back on PlayStation. The new game will release in early 2025 for PS5, PS4, and PC (via Steam and DMM).
Yet, the genre has changed again, and it’s landing where it probably really belongs. Venus Vacation Prism – Dead or Alive Xtreme is a dating simulator, or a ” full-fledged romance game” as Koei Tecmo officially describes it.
While a price has not been announced, this doesn’t appear to be a free-to-play game.
The trailer that you can see below features only Misaki, which was introduced with the original Venus Vacation, but there will actually be six girls to romance in the game. The remaining five will be announced starting on October 13 during the event of the 7th anniversary of DOAXVV.
Interestingly, a Steam page is already up, and it mentions that the game will have text in English, Japanese, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, and Korean, with the audio only in Japanese.
Yet, the page is geolocked, and if you try to access it with a Western Steam account, you’ll likely be bounced. Koei Tecmo likely quite possibly intends to limit the game to Asian audiences as it did with its predecessor.

Having multiple interactions with each of the girls will sometimes get you invited on dates. Gorgeous, vivid visuals and fully-voiced animations will make each date an enjoyable experience, as if the two of you are in your own world. The smiling face of a carefree girl, her profile as she watches the ocean waves in the evening, her eyes as she looks shyly up at you—each of these random moments can be photographed by you during your dates! Remember to keep your absolute favorite photograph as a memento of your date.
At the moments, no hints on the identity of the remaining five girls has been shared. Venus Vacation has grown to include many possible candidates, much beyond the original Dead or Alive cast.
That being said – and this is just personal speculation – it’s quite likely that more will be added via DLC if Prism if Venus Vacation Prism – Dead or Alive Xtreme is successful. After all, we are talking about Koei Tecmo, the undisputed kings of DLC.
